ARTEMIS + HERA
Goddesses of Ferocity and Protectors of Women in Childbirth
Our namesake comes from the ancient goddesses Artemis and Hera because they represent who we want to embody. Symbols and stories, we feel, are important to provide meaning to the work that we do. We love the images and symbolism of the goddesses Artemis and Hera.
Artemis is the ancient goddess of animals. Though she is fierce and wild, she is seen as a healing goddess. Artemis is the protector of births, and alleviates the suffering of women in childbirth. Artemis shows us that power, healing and growth can come through frightening situations.
Hera is a goddess from Greek mythology, an all-powerful goddess of women. She accompanies women throughout their lives, brings fertility, protects children, and looks after women giving birth. Hera combines both practicality and nurturing, and reminds us of our queen within.
